Last Call!
Dear all,
We wish to inform you that the LAST day to submit your suggested themes is 9.00 p.m. 2/6/08 (Monday).
Voting will commence on 3/6/08 (Tuesday) once the voting list is out; you will be duly notified via emails , blog or msn shout-out.
Voting closes on 4/6/08 (Thursday) and the theme will thus be finalised.
We have tried our best to get everyone's attention regarding this by many means, be it shout-out on msn, emails and more emails, or words of mouth. We believe that sufficient time has been given and we seek your kind cooperation in spreading the words around to your friends =) Only with a theme, can the graphics & design team progress in the production of our convo mag. We do not wish to rush through our convo mag amidst reading piles of journals, finalising our thesis, clerking cases and doing case presentations in future sems.
We wish to thank all those who have contributed your views/comments and have been actively involved in keeping this blog alive lols. Please keep this spirit up!!

The bolded themes above are those that ppl have expressed likings for. For your info, our mpharm friend's have 'Fragments of Memories' as their theme. Thus, I am not in favour of any theme with 'memories' (like 'painting memories' though it is good) as it will reflect the lack of creativity among pharmacy group, what more when there ain't much gap in betwen our 2 batches.
Elaine found out that wai k had posted for themes suggestion in lowyat forum.
'Currently,we are still trying to come out with a name for our convocation/graduation magazine.Everyone gave out names which are quite "generic" and we wish to have something unique and memorable.'
I shall post some replies here so u all can have a wider option:
31. Overdose
32. Critically Acclaimed
33. Drug Store Journal
34. Final Dosage
35. Final Bolus (what wai k suggested previously)
For laughter's sake, here are some (not serious) replies:
Since after this u going 2 get a job, why not "From the melting pot into the frying pan".
' The Drug Addict Collection'
Do bear in mind that the theme should reflect what we have been through and what memories we would like to leave behind. Being catchy is not really a must, but a bonus. Thanks everyone for the comments, voting will commence once we have received enough comments. *hint to committee members*

Blog Revived!
Since it is holz now, I hope that we could discuss about our funding for convo mag as well as starting to plan the convo mag itself ^_^
I have received ZERO reply to my mass email to the class; so I hope by initiating discussion in this blog, there will be progress.
First of all, we need to decide on the THEME. This is of great urgency as hh would like yeu l to design a logo, and he is flying off soon. Moreover, with the theme settled, we can then start planning for the contents itself.

Here were Wai Kit's comments in the post some time ago:
THE BOOK. (BOLD letters under which with fine print: 'that you'll keep forever... HOPEFULLY')
Where'd My 4 Years Gone?
Final bolus.
Something to add at the back cover of the mag:
-Ok,what's next? (really tiny print at the bottom)
Let's start putting on our thinking caps!!
p/s: please check your email for the password and user name to publish a post in this blog =D Committee members, may I request you to spare some time in replying to my previous mail (regarding funding, Profiles, Polls & Dedications). Thanks a bunch !! (^.^)
cheers,

Ms. Editor Finally Has Time To Speak Up
First of all, Thanks to E-V-E-R-Y-O-N-E for making the Valentine's day project a success; despite some minor hiccups (sorry for that; we will learn from our experience and improve in future funding projects), we all should be proud of ourselves for selling off all the items the day b4 Vday itself!! Let us continue this spirit and better still, bring it to another level ^_^ We are yet to know the exact profit as Money Chan needs time to prepare the 'financial report'. So stay tuned..
Also, thanks to those who frequently visit the blog, especially those who make their voices heard, be it in post or tagboard. Everyone is welcome to blog, regardless of what you think of your own idea (as long as it is convo-mag related).
Reminder: Alen needs all of us to decide on the THEME so he can start working on the layout and design during his free time. I know CPK is around the corner, but do spend some time thinking for the theme. During the next commitee meeting (I don't know when yet), each member should come up with a few themes (after discussing with their groups) and we will take it from there.
Next event: Joint CNY Food Sale with Mpharm on 26/2 (NEXT TUES)
Groups in charge: Stephanie & Ping Wei, Dai Lo
20% of the profits from the food sale will be contributed to mpharm in our 'joint venture'. However, Mpharm has said that if they reach their target (said to be Rm3000), they will not be taking 20% from us.
Our batch is also in charge of slave auction (person in charge: Terry) , whereby the profits will be split 60:40 with mpharm. (60 for us)
How Y-O-U can contribute:
1. BUY the tickets!! Get them from Terry!!
2. Get your friends to buy the tickets and tell them about the event! There will be lotsa food stalls, games stall (set up by Mpharm), performance and slave auction!!
3. Volunteer to be a slave =p
'Gantt Chart' for upcoming fund-raising events in Sem 6:
Really, our timetable is so packed that it is hard for us to coordinate things. However, not all is impossible. Here is my proposed plan:
Week 8: CNY Food Sale
Weeks 9-11: Hospital attachment period. Time to catch up on our assignments etc. so that we can spare some time in weeks 12-13.
Weeks 12-13: By this time, medic sem4 and sem 5 will be back *Read: potential customers*
Some of you have suggested that we do CARWASH and I think it is a good idea. (terry told me that mpharm earned Rm700 doing carwash in a few days) I suggest that the carwash be a main project for the guy gang since carwashing should be their forte eh!!
At the same time, the rest of us (Those who were majorly involved in Vday project & Food Sale) can perhaps carry out some minor projects. (Your IDEAS needed ^_^) What I have thought of so far (given our hectic schedule and limited manpower) is:
Make-up Workshop: We get a professional make-up artist to come to IMU to conduct a make-up workshop. Get students to sign-up for it and charge them a fee. We may sell some cosmetic products too.(My mum's friend can get silkygirl and revlon products at staff price, perhaps we can get our stock there).
Pros: a day-activity (relatively hassle-free), better if it can be conducted b4 imu ball *wink* as it will attract the girls' attention; at the same time, we can attract the professional make-up artist by providing them an avenue to advertise for personal make-up.
Of course there are issues like availability of make-up artist, fees charged by the make-up artist, uni approval, response by students, date of project etc etc to consider. We will shall work on that together should majority of you find the idea feasible.
Week 14: Final week. I don't think we should touch this week at all as I am sure we all need to touch up on our final assignments, start looking for our missing lectures notes *grins* and for some, studying for the EOS.
